Be Inspired! We All Need This Moment of Inspiration.
Looking out on the morning rain
I used to feel so uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Lord, it made me feel so tired
Before the day I met you, life was so unkind
But you’re the key to my peace of mind

Stick with me through this rant because I really want you to try this out if you haven’t already.
Our relationships are what we allow them to be. If you don’t take the time to love each other through the grind and low times, it can be a struggle to get back to enjoying life when you’re back on track. Family, friends, and significant others alike, if you aren’t here supporting in my struggle, don’t come asking to enjoy the benefits of that journey later on.
We have to stop letting people take advantage of us. We need to know what we want and tell people. There was a time when I would sabotaged myself before I could reach my goals because I was scared. It is as simple as that. I told my husband, then boyfriend, that I felt this way, and he has been gently pushing me to stay focused, go after my goals, and not to fear failure.
Let’s make sure we are having these conversations at home so the people around us know how to support us. When you become uninspired, you have people encouraging you to find your way. When you don’t want to get up, you have people noticing the change and making sure you have the resources and support you need. Let’s support each other. That is all…End rant.
You don’t need me preaching about how we need to celebrate ourselves and demand the respect we deserve. Although, I do think we should take a moment every so often and celebrate ourselves and our friends. I have friends who are out here killin’ it in their lives. I love that we tell each other how proud we are and encourage each other to keep pushing even when life gets tough.
Not only do I love how my friends and I celebrate each of them, but I am so grateful to be married to a man that feels the same way I do about celebrating our accomplishments. It took me some time to get here, but I made it y’all. I used to feel like I didn’t deserve to celebrate because I was moving toward my goals slower than some of my classmates. Back then, I felt like I didn’t deserve such an accomplished man who would encourage me to take my time and pursue the things I wanted no matter how long it took or how little money I made along the way. Of course, I got it together and we married in 2017. I am still slowly finding my way, but that doesn’t stop me from taking a couple minutes to acknowledge where I am in life.
If you don’t feel that type of support from your family, friends, or significant other, then how about you start the trend?
Pick three people to celebrate today. You can see them, call them, or text them….or whatever form of communication you use. Tell them how excited you are for them and their accomplishments. Be genuinely happy for people. We don’t have to choose between being happy for ourselves and being happy for someone else. We are capable of doing both and it’s not a betrayal. When you find that you can’t be happy for people, there’s some internal reflection that needs to happen. Either they aren’t really your friends/family or you’re struggling with your own situation and comparing to someone else’s situation. Just be happy for them no matter where you are in life. Your situation will change if you continue to work, surround yourself with awesome people, and stay focused on your priorities (whether that’s prayer, family, etc.).
I have so many people I want to celebrate today. In the past 3 months:
I passed an important test and yes I celebrated!
My friend started a new series supporting new mamas and launched her MILF (Mama’s Into Living Fab) Box. (pictures below)
My friend and test accountability partner just upgraded and passed a social work licensing test.
My husband has acquired his dream position to mentor individuals who want to learn how to do what he does.
Another one of my sister’s earned a promotion at work.
One of my sisters got a new job.
My best friend, who is an awesome teacher and new mama, had a beautiful baby girl and named us God parents! They also just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary.
My mother released a new book.

I’ve already told them how proud and excited I am for them. I want them to be successful. I want to support them through their journeys. I want support in my journey, and I want you to have the support you need from your tribe through your journey as well.
